There is no such thing as “peace” in Islam

(ARUTZ SHEVA) — Dr. Harold Rhode, one of the world’s preeminent scholars on Islam and author of a new book “Modern Islamic Warfare,” explains why Mahmoud Abbas will never adhere to a US-negotiated ‘peace deal’ with Israel.

Rhode who served as an adviser on Islamic Affairs at the US Department of Defense has a new book coming out titled “Modern Islamic Warfare.” The work exposes modern day terrorism as the classic style of Islamic warfare meant to instill fear in one’s enemy, whether they are fellow Muslims, Jews, Christians or others, in order to achieve one’s goals.

Rhode explains that Mahmoud Abbas will never adhere to a US-negotiated ‘peace deal’ with Israel, similar to arch terrorist Yasser Arafat, as he says there is no such thing as the concept of ‘permanent peace’ in Islam, only temporary truces when a side is weak and seeks to gain strength.

Ironically, Rhode believes that years of Islamic terror against the Jewish State has actually caused more and more Israelis to become stronger and deeply rooted in the Land of Israel.

Middle East expert: “Regional empire building” spurred Iran’s involvement in Syria

(THE TOWER) — In a conference call with The Israel Project on Tuesday, Dr. Jonathan Spyer, a Middle East journalist and analyst, said that Syria has “become a subcontractor for the ambitions of outside powers,” notably the Islamic Republic of Iran. Spyer explained that Iran’s involvement in Syria is a key part of its “regional empire building program,” which it views to be of “critical importance.”

Dr. Spyer said the Syrian uprising against Assad was now “without any hope” of success. But “in the moment of victory,” the Assad regime, rather than being victorious and strong, “was absolutely depended for its victory and continued existence on its patrons, Russia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He also addressed the emerging conflict between Israel and Iran in southwest Syria. Dr. Spyer said Iran “played a crucial role in the preservation of the Assad regime, now seeking to push its project westwards towards the Golan Heights.” Israel, meanwhile, is “determined to stop that process in its tracks.”

Elaborating further on Iran’s role in the region, Dr. Spyer stated that the JCPOA, the nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers agreed to in 2015, played a significant role in cementing Iran’s totalitarian and hegemonic agenda in the Middle East.

The million-dollar windfall from sanctions relief “strengthened and broadened the Iranian hand.” However, Dr. Spyer insisted, even before the deal was signed “Iran still managed to find billions of dollars to prop up the Assad regime in Syria, to finance the Shiite militias in Iraq, and the uprising of the Houthi movement in Yemen.”

In his view, it is testimony that “the regional empire building program is of such critical importance to the Iranian regime that, even when sanctions were having visible effects on the living standard of the Iranian people,” the Iranian leadership set aside billions for its military expansionism.

Former IDF iIntelligence chief: Shootdown of Iranian drone could be prelude to Israel-Shia war

(THE TOWER) — The interception of an Iranian drone that targeted Israel suggests that the chances for a war between Israel and Iran-led forces, the first Israel-Shia war, have increased, General (ret.) Amos Yadlin, the former head of Israel’s military intelligence told a conference call on Saturday.

The call was hosted by The Israel Project, which publishes The Tower.

Following the interception of the drone, The New York Times reported, Israeli jets attacked what was identified as the command and control center in Syria. One the way back from the mission, an F-16, which had come under Syrian anti-aircraft fire crashed in northern Israel. Two pilots escaped from the plane, though one has been reported to have been severely injured.

Israel reported that it hit eight targets in Syria including three anti-aircraft batteries and four Iranian positions, which were described as “part of Iran’s military entrenchment in Syria.”

“There is a determination by Iran to build a military force in Syria and Lebanon, and there is determination by Israel not to let it happen. And the two vectors are colliding,” Yadlin said, explaining the escalation.

Despite expressing concerns that the conflict could escalate, Yadlin expressed that he believed that it was in Russia’s interests to push back against Iran to defuse the situation, saying “Conflict in the north between Israel, Iran and Hezbollah is not in their interests.”

Israel strikes terror tunnels in Gaza overnight]

(THE JERUSALEM POST) — By Juliane Helmhold

The Israel Air Force struck an underground network of terror tunnels in the Gaza Strip overnight on Sunday, the IDF Spokesperson’s Office announced Monday morning.

The strike came in response to sirens heard in Sderot and other communities near the border of the Gaza Strip and a projectile that was launched into Israeli territory from Gaza Sunday night. According to reports, one mortar landed in an open area near Sderot.

“The IDF will continue to act to ensure security for the citizens of Israel by all means at its disposal. Hamas is responsible for everything happening in and out of the Gaza Strip, above and below ground,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Office responded in a statement.

This incident follows a period of rising tensions on Israel’s southern border.

“Spontaneous” protests which were held in recent weeks along the Israel-Gaza border have been getting more violent in recent days, with protesters bringing firearms and grenades to use against IDF troops on the other side of the fence.

On Saturday afternoon, four solders were wounded when a bomb was detonated against their military jeep, after they arrived to investigate a suspicious flag that was spotted on the Palestinian side of the fence near Khan Yunis in the southern part of the Strip. Two out of the four soldiers who were in serious condition were evacuated by helicopter to Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheba.

On Saturday evening, a home in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council was directly hit by a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip.

Media reports in Gaza said that an observation post belonging to the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, Saraya al-Quds, was struck by an IDF tank shell in response.

Soon after that, Palestinian media reported several air strikes in the Gaza Strip against Hamas positions. The IDF carried out large-scale strikes against six terrorist targets belonging to Hamas, including an attack tunnel in the Zeitun neighborhood of Gaza City that was dug toward Israeli territory on Saturday night.

The air force also attacked a Hamas military compound in the Netzarim area that included a weapons manufacturing site and another Hamas military compound in Khan Yunis.

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman responded to the situation on Sunday and vowed to eliminate the people responsible for the explosive device that injured four IDF soldiers.

“Until we eliminate them, the score remains unsettled,” Liberman told Israeli news site YNet on Sunday morning. “It will take two days, a week or two weeks. We’ll eliminate anyone behind the attack’s execution.”

Western Christianity in denial about radical Islam

(JERUSALEM POST) — The West is still in denial about radical Islam’s goal to eradicate Christianity, according to an Italian journalist and author.

Once radical Islam gains a foothold in Europe, there is nothing suggesting that it can’t easily dismantle Western Christianity, just as it did Christianity in the Middle East, wrote Giulio Meotti, cultural editor for Il Foglio, in a Gatestone Institute article this week.

“If Eastern Christianity can be extinguished so easily, Western Europe will be next,” he wrote.

“While natural disasters such as tsunamis or earthquakes spur solidarity throughout the West, the disappearance of entire Christian populations and their ancient civilizations never seems to disturb anyone,” Meotti said in the essay titled “Europe: Destroyed by the West’s Indifference?” “Perhaps it is a sign of denial by the West.”

Meotti struck a similar tone to a piece written by CAMERA Christian media analyst Dexter Van Zile, who said that the reason many churches take to blaming Israel is because the Jewish state is a safe target, while offending a jihadist would offer a different result.

“Our media and intelligentsia are always on the alert to defend everything coming from Islam, whether women’s veils or the ‘right not to be offended’ by cartoons,” Meotti wrote. “The same establishment, however, lies in a coma when Christian symbols come under attack.”

Palestinian cleric: Destroy Israel with nukes, then spread Islam globally

(THE TOWER) — A Palestinian sheikh at Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque urged “the nation of Islam” to overthrow Muslim rulers, eliminate Israel with nuclear strikes, then spread Islam globally in an address posted online last week.

“The Muslims’ reaction to Trump’s victory was: ‘Hopefully, he will destroy [the U.S.] and sit on its ruins. May he engage in nuclear wars, from which [the Muslims] will emerge intact.’ This is not how things go,” said Sheikh Abd Al-Salam Abu Al-Izz, according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

“What is supposed to happen is that the nation of Islam will rise, and take its matters into its own hands. It should assume control and command over its armies. It should get rid of the governments, kings, sultans, sheikhs, and emirs. It should toss them into the garbage bin of history. It does not matter whether we hang them on the gallows or not. What matters is that we should kick them out and move forward,” he added.

“We should take the armies and the weapons from them. We should take the Pakistani nuclear weapons from those criminals, and use them in the service of Islam. We should take these armies, and eliminate the state of the Jews in one or two strikes, and then bring Islam everywhere in the world.”

Egyptian scholar: Prophet Muhammad, Nazis, viewed Jews as animals

(BREITBART) — Egyptian-German scholar Hamed Abdel-Samad claimed that the prophet Muhammad’s view of Jews as “subhuman” and the subsequent treatment of Jews after his death was akin to that of the Nazis, adding that such hatred is ongoing and has “prevented us from dealing with our problems in a serious way.”

In the lecture, translated by MEMRI and entitled “Islamic Fascism and the Jews,” Abdel-Samad called on the Muslim and Arab world to stop “poisoning one generation after another with this hatred.”

He began by meditating on the Muslim obsession with Jews.

Today, we will talk about Islamic fascism and the Jews. We have had a fixation about the Jews since the inception of Islam, and this fixation refuses to come to an end. The Jews have always been small in number, but they cause us some mental reaction and we cannot get them out of our mind.

When I was studying in Cairo, two of the most popular books that I used to see in libraries and on the streets were Hitler’s Mein Kampf, which was banned in Germany because of its racism, and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which is a forgery. Without even checking, we accept it as a historical fact. This was one of the first books to be translated into Arabic in modern times. It is shameful that before translating Kant, Spinoza, Descartes, Rousseau, John Locke, or David Hume, the masters of the Enlightenment, we translated the forged Protocols of the Elders of Zion in order to use it to fuel our hatred towards the Jews. Do you know when the Protocols was translated into Arabic? In 1929 – before the State of Israel was established and before anyone was even thinking about it.

Abdel-Samad then took the Koran to task for commanding Muslims to scourge Jews and Christians.

Imagine what would happen if the Jews, the Christians, the Buddhists, or the Baha’is had a verse cursing the Muslims. We would go to the UN and ask for this verse to be erased from their books, right? But for us it is very normal to curse others, because ours is the last religion and our Lord pampers us a little.

But, of course, ours is a religion of tolerance, and Islam accepts all the religions, right? This is hypocrisy.

Abdel-Samad went on to say that fascism, Nazism, and Islam all share the view that Jews are like animals. While Hitler called the Jews “vermin,” Muhammad referred to them as “apes and pigs.”

Muslim hatred for Jews and how it got that way

ON TUESDAY, MARCH 3, ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER Benjamin Netanyahu will address a joint session of the United States Congress at the invitation of the Speaker of the House John Boehner. This will take place despite strong opposition from the White House, whose approval for this event was not sought.

Netanyahu will address the danger that an Iran with nuclear weapons would represent not only for Israel, but also for the United States and the entire world. More pointedly he will seek to persuade Congress not to support a deal that the Obama administration appears to be working out with Iran that will guarantee that the Iranians will soon have such weapons. Allowing Iran to have nuclear weapons would be catastrophic, Netanyahu will argue. Read more »
